PricingCommissioned paintings will be priced on an individual basis and communicated in advance with the client. Variables that affect pricing include: size, detail, subject count, and feasibility of reference material. Fill out the contact form below to get a custom quote for your painting! Materials are included in the final cost. Commissions will be protected by acrylic finishing varnish. I will work with you to develop a payment plan that best suits your needs! For commissioned paintings, a retainer fee of 50% will be paid prior to beginning the project. The cost will be paid in full prior to delivery.

How long will my painting take?I open custom commission slots every quarter, meaning that every 3 months, you have the opportunity to secure your dream painting! This avoids year-long backlogs and ensures quicker turnaround of projects. I will post slot availability on my Facebook page, Strother Creative. For presents requested before a particular anniversary, birthday, or holiday date, I recommend contacting me early in advance to ensure viability and completion.

Acrylic or Oil Paint? In most cases, I use acrylic paint for custom commissions. Acrylic fully dries very quickly and can be completed and varnished in a matter of days. To contrast, the oil paint drying and varnishing phase takes months - sometimes up to a year. Oil paint is great to work with, but is often too far beyond clients' ideal turnaround date.

Holiday GiftsFor major gifting holidays such as Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, and more, I offer a limited number of slots specifically dedicated to holiday paintings. To give everyone a fair chance, I announce the availability of these slots in the months leading up to the holiday on my Facebook page, Strother Creative. This allows you to secure a spot and have a special holiday painting created. For all other commissions, they are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To ensure that I can accommodate your request, I recommend scheduling your commission well in advance. Please note that I do not accept last-minute painting requests, so it's best to plan ahead and reserve your spot months in advance.

Can I get my painting framed?Of course! Depending on the size of your painting and your requested frame, pricing will vary.

What do I need to provide for a custom order?Great question. Depending on your order, I'll need a couple things to make the final painting fit your vision: High Quality Images: If I am working from a picture (or pictures), it's imperative that I am provided high quality images to work from. I want to be able to capture the likeness of your subject as best as I can. I can work my magic in most cases, but it's great to have a solid foundation to build off! Here's an example. While both images are usable, the left image is sharp and more detailed! Painting Details: Give me an idea of what you're looking for in this painting. Style, color, size, and poses are all important features you may want to specify! Background and composition suggestions are also appreciated.
